Seemal Mumtaz, MD specializes in General Surgery and Cardiology with a focus on Thoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery, who practices all throughout the greater San Diego area. She first received her medical degree from Aga Khan Medical University in 2004 and completed a research fellowship there in 2005.
In 2011, Dr. Mumtaz completed a residency at Creighton University for General Surgery and went on to complete two fellowships in Thoracic Surgery at the University of California San Diego in 2013 and at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 2015. He became certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in Thoracic Surgery (Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery) in 2014 and can currently be found on staff Scripps Mercy Hospital and Sharp Hospitals across San Diego. Dr. Mumtaz speaks both English and Urdu.
