Dr. Alexander Zabaneh is a fellowship-trained, Board Certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of cataracts, dry eye, and glaucoma. He spent his formative years growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He completed a competitive six year combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, also serving as a research assistant. During his tenure, he authored a number of papers in the fields of neuroscience and ophthalmology, while spending his free time volunteering in the community.
Dr. Zabaneh completed his medical internship at Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago where he received the Kiernan OKAP Award. He then further sub-specialized by completing a glaucoma fellowship at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Zabaneh has presented at meetings for the Chicago Glaucoma Society and American Glaucoma Society. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling and playing sports.
