Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul was named as one of the 2015 “Top Doctors” in the annual San Diego Magazine “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence” survey.
Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul graduated from the University of Aberdeen Medical School. He completed his internship in General Surgery at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and finished his residency at Brooks General Hospital. Dr. Bhoyrul did a research fellowship in Clinical Research and another fellowship in Laproscopic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Bhoyrul is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Society of Surgeons of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), Society of American Gastroenterological Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and Pacific Coast Surgical Association.
Dr. Bhoyrul has contributed original research to the field of laparoscopic surgery, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul regularly performs Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery, Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery, Gastric banding surgery (lap band surgery), colectomy, gastrectomy, anti-reflux surgery, appendectomy, splenectomy, hernia repair, adrenalectomy and other complex, minimally invasive surgical procedures.
