Dr. Srinivas Iyengar was named a “2018 — Top Doctor” in the annual San Diego Magazine “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence” survey.
After medical school at the University of Colorado, Dr. Iyengar did his eye residency at the University of Kansas. He spent one year on a plane, as part of the Flying Eye Hospital, with ORBIS International, teaching ophthalmology in underdeveloped countries. He then spent two years in Los Angeles, training in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery. He spent three years in private practice in central Florida, where he served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, before returning home build his private practice here in San Diego. Dr. Iyengar currently serves as volunteer faculty at UCSD where he staffs the residents and medical students at the free clinic downtown once a month.
